The surface is polished and smooth, and has the deep black that is typical for Obsidian. Numbers and patterns forms a minimal raised relief over an otherwise completely smooth surface, and its many colors has a life of its own against the Obsidian.
The dice is about the same weight as glass (after all, it is vulcanic glass), but it feels different from glass. Obsidian has a unique feel to it.
